IOT and it’s implication for mobile communication
The internet of things refers to the network device, vehicles, and other items that are embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and connectivity which enables these objects to connect and exchange data.
The implication for this technology are:
a) Ability to remotely monitor and control devices. Eg a user can use their smartphone to check the temperature and humidity levels in their home, adjust the lighting, and even lock or unlock doors. This level of control and monitoring is made by the IOT devices in the home that are connected to the internet and communicate with the user’s mobile device.
b) Ability to automate and streamline various task. For examples a user can use their smartphone to schedule and automate the irrigation system in their garden so that it only turns on weather is dry. This can save resources and time and more so ensure garden is well-watered.
c) It enables new form of mobile communication such as machine to machine communication. This refers to the ability of devices to communicate with each other without human intervention which can be used to optimized various processes and improve efficiency.
d) Ability to create more efficient and personalize user experiences. For examples, IOT enables devices can collect data on user behavior and preferences which can be used to tailor services and products to individual needs. This can lead to more relevant and targeted marketing as well as improved customer services.
e) It raises the concerns about privacy and security. As more devices are connected to the internet the amount of data being collected and transmitted increases which can make it more difficult to protect against cyberattacks and data breaches.
f) This technology has more significant to mobile communication as it enables new way for devices to interact with each other and the user.
Overly, the implication of IOT for mobile communication are significant and it has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact and communicate with each other. It more efficient and personalized user experiences as well as new business model and revenue streams. It also raises concerns about privacy and security which companies must address to build trust with their customers.
